A limited amount of financial assistance is available to supplement family resources. Eligibility for financial aid is based on a family's demonstrated need. In order to determine the financial need of a family, Beacon utilizes the School and Student Service for Financial Aid by NAIS and requires financial documentation such as federal tax returns to be submitted. The amount of aid received by families ranges from partial to almost full tuition assistance, and families from a range of income levels have qualified for aid based on individual family circumstances.
Beacon encourages the families of all applicants to carefully evaluate their ability to pay school costs. If a family thinks they have the need to be considered for financial aid, they must apply at the time of admission. Only due to a significant, unexpected change in circumstances, such as job loss, will consideration for financial aid be granted at a later date, including subsequent years, if the request is not made with a student's initial application for admission.
As a small school, Beacon's financial assistance resources are limited. We expect parents to give their children’s Beacon education high priority in their financial planning and to consider seriously all family resources and assets (including possible help from such sources as grandparents) before applying for financial aid.
